And I hope we won’t hear any more after tonight from those who have suggested Donaghy should be first choice keeper.
For all the plaudits Woods got on Saturday, tonight showed that he can’t do it on his own, without a Conlon (or Payne or Pett) alongside him in central midfield.
Strongly disagree with the suggestion that we can’t get away with playing wingers rather than wing backs. It was 4-4-2 until we went 2 down and the wingers were the only area which looked up to scratch. Not enough quality in defence, central midfield, or up front.
Completely dominated the second half, without creating any real serious chances. Ogle’s goal probably wouldn’t have been, except for fluke deflection. But attack was our best form of defence.
First two matches suggest that we may be ok this season, if we can avoid too many injuries and mostly put out our best 11. But bench is desperately thin.
