Southend United, York City, Yeovil Town, Carlisle United, Eastleigh and Altrincham have all declined to enter this season’s National League Cup. If Oldham had not been promoted I would support a banning of the cup too.

I hope we are not going to entertain these 'Mickey Mouse' trophies again this season. Anything with a PL Under 21's team in should be banned (I know we are already committed to one). It's the PL playing 'big boys' with the rest of the League again. It's just an inroad for the PL teams to try to get their 'academy' players in the lower leagues (much like Scotland) at the expense of our grass-roots football.

What next, women's teams entering the men's game? The mind boggles!
