It’s takes a big leap of faith to sign an injured player that is due to have an operation on a two year deal. If it’s only a one year deal, and then bearing in mind he may be out for a quarter of that period. I suppose if it was a standard injury and the operation is nearly always successful then maybe some would think it is a risk worth taking.
I’m not sure I would given his age. Yes he has been a classy player and the goal at Wembley was top drawer but can he still do it at a higher level after the operation.
