I have been out of action for 3 months and unable to go to matches and Wembley! Trying to keep up with what is going on at the club and reading posts on this site,most days.
Have just checked and was horrified to see we have only 8 players whose contracts extend beyond this season. Only 4 of them played any part at Wembley. They are Monthe,Conlon,Charsley,Worthington,Waters,Harratt,Ogle and Kay.
Not a lot to hang a new team on and we will need to bring in 14 outfield players and goalkeepers,too.
With the final delaying the end of this season and uncertainty about the division we would end up in we may be a tad late on recruitment. Nothing can be done about that but we must sign players who can take us on the next step of the journey.
We are now an attractive proposition and players may be easier to persuade with good contracts. To get some continuity I would give Fondop an improved deal and Pett would handle the division okay.
I’m not sure a case can be made for any of the others.H
