Yard Dog 68, I’m in Agia Marina, if you’re not familiar with it it’s about 5 miles the other side of Chania. I spent a week in Agios Nickolaos about 40 years ago and loved every minute of it. It was very basic back then with traditional Greek Tavernas and real Greek food. The only fast food places were in Malia back in the day.
Up until last year we had a modest place in the Peloponnese in a small fishing village called Agios Nikolaos strangely enough. If you like Greece try the Mani region of the Peloponnese. It’s stunningly beautiful in spring.
I would recommend, Agios Nikolaos, Kardamilli, or Stoupa, unfortunately even there its becoming too commercialised for my wife and I, hence the sale oh the house.
