I’m making a claim to be the smart alec that hypothesised this a few weeks ago. I didn’t speculate on Clarke and I’m not convinced about this part of the rumour. Are he and Adam’s mates? Bury perhaps? Seriously though, if this is what needs to be done to get Mellon out of his management role I’ll take it today with both hands. It’s up to Royle to justify his board room role. That might be harder.
