One thinks of bipolar disorder as one of uncontrolled emotion be it too much (mania) or too little (depression). So the operative word may be "uncontrolled" Too much dopamine: norepinephrine ratio makes sense as a state of extremes or lack of control. Could the brain be simpler than we think?
