Here the authors found that non-A- gene was associated with loneliness in adulthood if maternal rejection during rearing present. This makes sense in that A- trait predisposing to introversion would make one more accepting of both rejection and loneliness thus less likely to complain compared to those with non A- gene and thus more extraverted non-accepting of both loneliness and rejection.
