Didn't read the text of the study. They found that infestation with a parasite (toxoplasma gondi) linked with entreprenurial behavior such as risk-taking , persistence etc.
Perhaps they designed the study to show change in pre-infestation behavior? But perhaps some personality types are more likely to have infections of all kinds, are more extraverted, flamboyant, unafraid.
There is a body of knowledge about the human viral and bacterial commensal flora and personality and vulnerability to illness. The usual conclusion of these researchers is that the various viruses and bacteria and parasites cause the illness or protect against the illness and cause the behaviors. Brain infestation from these organisms seem related to behavioral change in a straightforward way, but is that true of infestation in other parts of the body?
NPA theory being a genetic theory of behavior can show varying medical vulnerabilities from invading organisms based on pleuripotent genes in certain personality types.
