Here in an Australia study, ABO O (hypothesized to be associated with high temperament) lowers risk of schizophrenia. This intersects with NPA theory in that individuals with only one NPA trait are more at risk for schizophrenia. The concept linking these two findings may be that temperament or level of activation reflects on the risk for unusual behavior such as schizophrenia. High level of activation protects against schizophrenia?
