Here in a mice study, short exposure period vs long showed higher dopamine in brain. Dopamine seems to have some optimal level for normal physiology, perhaps just on the basis that average =normal. In NPA theory, higher dopamine levels would be suppressive of traits N and A, so this can be relevant to the topic of this article, studying the causes of seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Depression seems to be the result of too much suppression of traits N and/or A.
