Here is a study done in a European ethnicity population studying a gene (candidate gene for A- trait) association with schizophrenia and an endophenotype for schizophrenia, prefrontal efficiency.
The finding was that the non-A- gene would be associated with the endophenotype and weakly with schizophrenia. So one wonders if the population showing up as at risk is the val/val N members of the population. this would be consistent with NPA theory where a portion of those with only one trait are more at risk. The association was weak where it should have been a very strong one for this reason, among other reasons, because of the lack of current understand of the NPA theory of schizophrenia.
