its helpful to survival, though the presence of the P-gene serves to regulate it. THis is reflected on a large macro-scale by the norms and rules of society. It's against the law to kill somebody in most cases. Yet, killing somebody can be a form of proactive aggression. It's also against to law to slander and defame people. Yet, slandering somebody can be a form of proactive aggression. Same for threatening life. So there are many instances where aggression is being outlawed by societies/countries/communities heavy in the P-gene...it's based on the pretension that human life has intrinsic value. Thus, this goes back to second phase NPA theory, where we start to look at these genes from an evoluntionary function.
