Re: schizophrenia and intelligence
The A− trait muddies the waters in the predisposition to schizophrenia (SCZ). As we have discussed in the past, it appears that in some sanguine families with the A trait, those individuals who are schizophrenic (or SCZ carriers) have the A− trait. Thus, such individuals with SCZ actually have both trait N and trait A, except in addition they have a gene that predisposes to SCZ and causes the A− trait as well.
So, it is probable that many individuals with SCZ in polymorphic areas actually "have both trait N and trait A".
