This is the gene that seems to separate low temperament N types from high temperature N types as well as to separate those with full expression A trait from those with A - trait.
In looking at the first peoples of the Americas, we see that they were originally part of the Mongolian people and migrated across the Bering strait when there was a land bridge some 10,000 to 20000 years ago. My guess would be that those who left were mostly low temperament N types leaving an area with more high temperament N types. Thus we look at the first people descendants of today and note their tendancy to quietness and low temperament.
There is a recognized tendancy to substance abuse disorder among First People's of the Americas. While may be not from the Comt Val met gene but more from the DRD4 7R and 2R gene which is far more common in these groups than in the area from which they migrated as Asia is almost all DRD4R.
