Pen Cleaning Question

I am new to fountain pens and have a question about cleaning a vintage pen. I picked up a nice 1935 Parkette Deluxe that was sold as basically unrestored but noted that it had been "resacced" and that it "fills & writes". I have not inked it up and tried it out because I am not able to remove the nib or the barrel from the section. I am worried that if I fill it, use it, when is time to clean it I will not be able to take it apart. Does it need to be completely disassembled to be properly cleaned? Any suggestions on how to get it apart besides brute force? Any info or recommendations are appreciated. I am intrigued by vintage pens and want to properly care for any I acquire.
