The advantage of using this makeshift converter is that you do not have to remove the cartridge every time. This constant removing and replacing the cartridge eventually causes the nipple to become loose or to split. With this converter, you keep the gizmo always in the pen and just refill by squeezing the bulb while the section is in the ink bottle. This also flushes the pen every time you refill it.
As for the spare Aurora cartridge, the next time I take out my old Auroras I will look for one and let you know.
