Lay it out in an eesay as you see it, Marc...but be sure to give clear definitions for what are nebulous and charged terms in your thesis and explain why noir's legacy is at risk due to what is happening currently in Hollywood.

Going to the new local arthouse here in SB frequently (five screens!) suggests to me that the films that will be seen and discussed by the culturati will increasingly be from non-American filmmakers--"now more than ever." :-)

And there is still a sizable swatch of older noir that needs to be resurrected in order to create a truly comprehensive legacy...
