A few quotes from Jacob Swedlow, the prime mover of this strange mash-up between neo-noir and hip-hop (forms whose most notable connection to one another might be those hyphens...) aren't exactly complimentary toward the Melville film that still somehow entrances those who fall into its rhythms of emptiness...
For example:
The movie is almost three hours long and only four things happen in it. It’s very artful. It’s very slow, and very vague.
Swedlow's description is weird enough that one hopes some enterprising individual will film it, just so that we can see what this actually looks like...
