Not much of a noir, but with several fine flourishes in that direction, A PRIVATE LIFE gets most of its crackle from the formidable chemistry between Jodie Foster and Daniel Auteuil.

The film took a long time to get out into theaters (our preview of it dates from mid-November) and is still not in wide distribution; keep an eye out for it over the next weeks. I was in LA last week and managed to catch up with it...definitely recommended!
