Not quite a noir, but simply one of the truly great films about the ongoing psychic costs of racism in America, directed by the recently departed Michael Roemer. Searing performances from Ivan Dixon, Abbey Lincoln, Gloria Foster and Julius Harris.
Proud and honored to have screened this in the MID/MAD series in 2022, a year & a half before it received a long overdue and well-deserved release by Criterion.
