Alan Rode will comment on SMOOTH AS SILK, and his 2013 (?) interview with David Ladd (recorded, IIRC, after a screening of GATSBY will also be part of the bundle.
It seems to me that it would be nice if Alan devoted a day built around Alan Ladd's noirs at Palm Springs--I don't have the full list of those screenings handy, but I am not recalling that any of them have been shown there (Alan has decided his "line in the sand" is to never do repeat screenings). I'm pretty sure that David Ladd is still with us, so something on the order of THIS GUN FOR HIRE, THE BLUE DAHLIA, THE GREAT GATSBY and APPOINTMENT WITH DANGER would make for a very solid day-long tribute to his father. Of course, there are several others to choose from if it turns out that any of them have been shown previously...
