Aside from adaptations of many film noirs, a number of the old-time radio (OTR) shows featured noir-like themes. The show SUSPENSE virtually had every episode that could fall under the noir canopy. Fortunately , of the 945 episodes produced, a bit over 900 are readily found on the internet, like here - https://archive.org/details/OTRR_Suspense_Singles. Over the years, I’ve slowly collected all the ones available (and hundreds of other mystery/suspense/thriller episodes from programs like Inner Sanctum, Lights Out, Quiet, Please, The Mysterious Traveler, The Whistler, etc.etc.) Many mix fantasy and horror, with a dash of noir thrown into the mix. One of the more memorable and unique ones is an episode from The Mysterious Traveler entitled “Behind The Locked Door”. Of course, with so many foreign noirs still to catch up with, who has time for OTR?
