We'll focus on the noirs, which will play on Wednesday March 19 and spill over to the next day:
(Times are EDT)
8p Double Indemnity (1944)
10p Sorry, Wrong Number (1948)
11:45p No Man of Her Own (1950)
1:30a Witness to Murder (1954)
3a Cry Wolf (1947)
4:30a Jeopardy (1953)
5:45a The Man With a Cloak (1951)
7:15a The Two Mrs. Carrolls (1947)
9a The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946)
11a Clash by Night (1952)
1p Crime of Passion (1957)
Missing is THE FILE ON THELMA JORDON, which ought to replace THE MAN WITH A CLOAK. Also nowhere to be found: THE LADY GAMBLES, less of a loss than THELMA but serviceable enough.
Worse yet: the fine noir western THE FURIES doesn't make the cut, either.
It would be fun, too, to see Stanwyck in the sixties--WALK ON THE WILD SIDE is notably lurid, and THE NIGHT WALKER overcomes much of its campiness thanks to the teaming of Stanwyck with her ex Robert Taylor.
But no...
Oddly, CLASH BY NIGHT will play twice: it's Eddie's pick for Noir Alley on March 22/23. Seems as though either THELMA or THE FURIES should've been put into the March 20 slot to avoid the repeat screening...
And of course there are many more Babs films scheduled on March 5/6, 12/13 and 26/27, with a lot of pre-Code in the early going. But--no BITTER TEA OF GENERAL YEN, which is a bitter bill to swallow.
Still, 46 films...it's definitely a heaping helping of one of the all-time greats.
