My requirements are simply that the films contain an important segment concerning Christmas.
1. "Night of the Hunter"
The film's finale occurs on Christmas.
2. "Christmas Holiday"
Top drawer Robert Siodmak film.
3. "Mister Arkadin" a/k/a "Confidential Report"
Numerous Christmas sequences in this baroque noir thriller from Orson Welles.
4. "They Live by Night"
Farley Granger and Cathy O'Donnell are youthful lovers on the run.
5. "Dillinger" (1945)
As for the Lawrence Tierney bio-pic from Monogram, there is a depressing scene of Dillinger in hiding from the Feds in Chicago that has to be seen to be believed.
