In the heart of a bustling city, retired private detective Frank Cannon finds himself drawn back into the gritty world of investigations. The apparent suicide of an old friend and former Army Intelligence colleague raises suspicions that cannot be ignored. As the scent of foul play hangs heavy in the air, Cannon dusts off his instincts, ready to delve into a case that promises to uncover secrets buried deep within the shadows.
There's also an old flame and many references back to the QM series that ran on CBS in the 70s with the portly William Conrad (who'd get even more so in the next decade when he played Nero Wolfe) showing a soft side unrelate to his improbable physique.
