"Storm Warning" is an underrated and unjustly overlooked film. While not perfect in all respects, it is genuinely an exercise in film noir. The opening sequence in which Ginger Rogers is unable to secure a taxi cab and the every business in the vicinity of the bus depot suddenly close their doors is appropriately grim.
The word has gone out and everybody is aware that the Klan is plotting to lynch a newspaper reporter and many cowardly locals simply do not want to be involved.
