No street date for this one, or any accompanying info (commentaries, etc.) but Kino has announced the titles that will appear in Volume XXII. They are: THE ENFORCER THE SCARLET HOUR PLUNDER ROAD Not sure how Kino's disk of PLUNDER ROAD will differ from the blu-ray that came out a few years ago. (Some of you will recall that we screened PLUNDER ROAD in 2022 as part of our Midcentury Madness series, which was a preview of what NC would do with its "darkness has no borders" thang this year, since we showed the Croation 'vehicular noir" H-8 with it.) PLUNDER ROAD was in the NC Oakland version of their '24 "one from column A/one from column B" mashup, but it hasn't surfaced again in any of their subsequent incarnations. Kino has also announced that they'll release 4K UHD restorations of Melville's BOB LE FLAMBEUR and LE DOULOUS in August, though they erroneously lumped the films into the Nouvelle Vague. (They will, however, be releasing a bonafide NV film in 4K UHD at the same time: Alain Resnais' LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD.) |
