The film suffers from a host of implausibilities. The idea that the entire population of a small community is either employed by or spend all of their leisure time at a colossal bowling alley and night club complex is utterly ridiculous.

The fact the plot asks the audience to accept that Jefty convinced a local judge to release Pete into his personal custody is as credible as George Costanza pushing a television script about a man sentenced to serve as a butler after an automobile collision.
