...really neo-noir, as you'll see when you read it--there is a mention of Joe Gillis' "resting place" in SUNSET BLVD, but other films from the (late) classic era could have been used to buttress the story: KISS ME DEADLY, THE SCARLET HOUR, PRIVATE PROPERTY...as Norma Desmond would say, some of you out there in the dark may be able to identify some others.
