A rather talky, but not bad little B-noir out of the Sol Wurtzel unit at Fox (which would shut down in the following year--stories abound regarding Wurtzel being even a slimier guy than Harry Cohn).
Director Eugene Forde would make three more noirs after this, winding things up with THE INVISIBLE WALL, featuring Don Castle (more famous now for his roles in THE GUILTY and I WOULDN'T BE IN YOUR SHOES). Forde has an interesting collection of pre-noir crime films that are worth investigating--including a number of entries in the Charlie Chan and Mike Shayne series.
