Thanks to Allen Johnson for showcasing our "slam-bang finish" on Monday night at the Roxie...Bay Area folk really should make every effort to come out for this double feature, which is probably in the top five we've paired up over our ten-festival run...if you've not been to any of the French noir shows, this is the one that should convince you that they really did "have a name for it" and could deliver their own version of noir that, as Mick LaSalle noted a few years back, "takes no back seat to America."
