My thought on reading the reviews of David Fincher’s The Killer out of Venice was that casting Michael Fassbender as a hitman is possibly too on point. I have long thought that Fassbender, this generation’s Laurence Harvey, is a little too icily self-complete, non-relatable, to ascend to the kind of stardom that his talent would seem to warrant.
