I think W. Lee Wilder has gotten a very bad rap, and I remember fighting with "the Czar" to publish a revisionist essay that dared to compare him to his more famous (and unquestionably more accomplished) brother.

But spend some time with "Willy's" filmography and I think you'll find many examples of the canniness that surfaces in many of this films.
