Receiving an award at the Black Film Festival this weekend after its premiere last week in Tribeca.
Loud and Clear's review has a bit too much "millennial toggle" in it, but on the whole it sounds as though it's worth a shot:

Pam Grier certainly gives the film a nice retro-pedigree.
CINNAMON is the first release from Black Noir Cinema, underwritten in part by basketball superstar Kevin Garnett. Here's a link to "inaugural coverage" of the venture, which is residing under the umbrella of Village Roadshow Pictures:

MURDER CITY, Black Noir Cinema's second release, was apparently also screened at the Black Film Festival over the weekend, but reviews for the film have not yet surfaced.
