Cannes '23 is now in full swing; some of the favored films from last year's festival are now making their way to the US. Chris Knipp gives a thumbs-up for Moll's dour disquisition on the self-limiting, gender-based world inside the police procedural, and we can expect more reviews now that the film is making its NYC theatrical debut at the Quad Cinema tomorrow.
Given the current state of rep cinema in LA and the absence of Gwen Deglise at the American Cinematheque, I'm guessing that it will get perfunctory exposure on the West Coast. Perhaps it will stream at some point: we'll keep an eye out for it...
