Delightfully comprehensive and well-illustrated account of the MANY films that took advantage of Los Angeles’s now-destroyed Bunker Hill neighborhood for location shooting purposes. If this doesn’t send you straight to YouTube and/or your favorite DVD dealers, I don’t know what would. Absolutely essential for Los Angeles and film noir buffs. I might disagree with one or two of Jim Dawson’s general points re: locations vs. studio sets, but that is neither here nor there; the meat of the book is just fascinating.
