Definitely a good thing that all these films are getting a release. I'm also a fan of THE TATTERED DRESS, though the Chandler-Crain subplot drags a bit. Jack Carson is wonderfully sinister and pretty much steals the film, and the star-crossed Gail Russell has some strikingly effective scenes. Seeing it fully deployed in Cinemascope is going to be a definite plus, given the intriguing desert locations and the presence of veteran cinematographer Carl Guthrie.

I should note that we came very close to putting on a George Zuckerman retrospective back in 2016, but two or three of the films in the projected series--including THE TATTERED DRESS--were not available in a sufficiently screenable format at that time. We might still get to it, as Zuckerman (also an accomplished novelist) had a varied and interesting screenwriting career. I also know it would mean a lot to his daughter, with whom I went to high school back in the day.
