Friday night: KEY LARGO/THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI
Saturday matinee: LARCENY/SORRY, WRONG NUMBER
Saturday evening: RAW DEAL/THEY LIVE BY NIGHT
Sunday matinee: HOLLOW TRIUMPH/THE HUNTED
Sunday evening: THE BIG CLOCK/SO EVIL, MY LOVE
You won't be surprised to discover that we were a bit off in terms of what will actually screen at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge over four days (not three) totaling 12 films (not 10).
Here is the schedule for NC Boston as just posted at the Brattle Theatre web site (BTW, they simply call themselves "The Brattle"):
Friday June 9: NAKED CITY/CRY OF THE CITY
Saturday June 10: HE WALKED BY NIGHT/HOLLOW TRIUMPH/THE SPIRITUALIST/THE BIG CLOCK/CALL NORTHSIDE 777
Sunday June 11: SLEEP, MY LOVE/UNFAITHFULLY YOURS/SORRY, WRONG NUMBER/LARCENY
Monday Jun 12: RAW DEAL
Rather shocking to see KEY LARGO and THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI dropped from the lineup, and it's also surprising to see THE HUNTED and THEY LIVE BY NIGHT missing.
But a nice triple helping of John Alton on Saturday afternoon!
A strange tonal shift is put into play on Sunday, with two rather fraught films followed by a "noir comedy" (UNFAITHFULLY YOURS) and a "con-man noir" with a large dollop of Bill Bowers dialogue (LARCENY).
Strange also to see RAW DEAL screened by itself on Monday night.
All in all, a solid grouping.
