I am thrilled that you were inspired to re-watch it! I like your comparison of Garland and Stanton. I am becoming a bit of a Beverly Garland super-fan - for example, I think she is the best part of Chicago Confidential, and I love her lead performance in Stark Fear. As it happens, I watched Sudden Danger recently too.

Tracing this tier of performers such as Garland, Stanton, and Franz through their various film, television, and radio appearances is a pleasure. As you and I agree, it is such a kick when supporting performers get a chance to shine in a lead, even if the project is kind of iffy, such as some of Franz’s excursions in B science fiction. Being asked to carry a picture is still a big deal, and I’m sure was appreciated by most as such.
