I have a list of about 250 possible “TV noir” series just for 1945-1970, and when you add in all the anthology series that featured noirish content occasionally, the British series that I’ve missed, and the relevant post-1970 material, the magnitude of the subject becomes pretty daunting. (The same is true for radio noir.) Just determining what still exists to be potentially looked at would be an enormous task.
