The Dante character was popular enough to rate four separate episodes on "Four Star Playhouse."
Writer Blake Edwards was able to revisit these same themes when the characters were spun off as a network program "Dante" a weekly television series that was broadcast in 1960-61. Actor Howard Duff replaced Dick Powell as "Willie Dante."
