Many critics and reviewers point to King's female character being the leader of the counterfeiting operation being somewhat unique. I beg to differ.
Jane Randolph was the leader of the counterfeiting ring in "T-Men." The key difference is Randolph had much less screen time in "T-Men" and her character did not really come forward until the film was close to its conclusion. King had many more scenes in "Southside 1-1000." Of course, it was not immediately clear that she was a criminal, but her role was more substantial that of Randolph. No knock on Jane Randolph's performance -- she played her part most effectively.
