Of particular note to noir aficionados and devotees of the MCP "eclectic" programming is the first appearance of Zetterling's debut film TORMENT (1944), which screened in our highly acclaimed 2016 series entitled MIDCENTURY ECLECTIC. Other films in the series with serious noir overtones are FRIEDA (1947), Bergman's early MUSIC IN THE DARK (1948), and Zetterling's tumultuous second directorial effort NIGHT GAMES (1966).
And--of course--much, much more, as is so often the case with Bruce Goldstein and Film Forum. One hopes that all or part of this series can migrate its way to the West Coast/Bay Area, but with PFA still in half-open mode and Alamo Drafthouse severely limiting its repertory content, there's not much of a chance that the entire package can get a shot. I've forwarded the info to the Roxie in hopes that they'll explore a smaller subset of this series...we'll see.
