Nice to know that 16 years later, you can view a vastly improved print of the 1951 M with not too much effort. My current copy, which was a huge improvement over my first DVD of it, was DVR'd from an airing on TCM in 2016, and hosted by Sister Rose Pacatte of Culver City in a TCM Spotlight series on films condemned by the Catholic Church. The good sister couldn't understand the adverse reaction to M by the church considering what she described as "the most moral ending you're going to find in a crime drama."
That airing pre-dated Noir Alley, but one would think Eddie would have access to the film for a repeat airing. Personally, I need to track down that French blu ray because I've seen screen shots of it on DVDBeaver and they look pristine. And I also need another look at The Lawless, so maybe I'll stage my own home double bill.
