The fiery destruction of a burning barn roof appeared in so many Poe adaptations. Corman economically persuaded a farmer with a burning permit to let him film the demolition by a controlled fire.
My gripe is magnified by the fact that during the pandemic I watched more films on cable than I would do normally. The movies that I referenced were released over an eighteen year span, but having seen the movies in rapid succession the similarities of the simplistic comic book quality films was especially grating.
One of the last good movies that I saw before the pandemic shut the theaters was the superior "1918" in 70 mm. This was a compelling film about the Great War.
