Thanks, Dan, for correcting my misplaced memory about this one. Highly worthwhile indeed, and with a number of socially conscious elements tossed in along with the central story (possibly supplied by John Paxton?).
Some think of it as a kind of CASABLANCA clone, but the film is darker and more violent than that. I think Eddie should put it into his next SF festival, particularly given the cast (Lancaster, Rains, Lorre, Henreid)--as you say, off the chart.
