The odd thing about GUN CRAZY is that Eddie wrote a book about it, and he's not the one introducing it. (I have no theory about that, either.)
The full list of 12 films receiving only one screening
In addition to the five you already guessed (FLY-BY-NIGHT, HIGH TIDE, JEALOUSY, STORY OF MOLLY X, VELVET TOUCH), there are:
ARMORED CAR ROBBERY, THE DARK CORNER, ROAD HOUSE, SHAKEDOWN, SIDE STREET, SOMEWHERE IN THE NIGHT and TRY AND GET ME
All the others on the list are receiving three screenings.
There is some possibility that $$ related to screening rights may be playing a role in these decisions. There are several Fox films in this list, and there have been some rumblings about screening fees vis-a-vis these films now that Disney owns the Fox film library.
As for the film with two noir favorites that is being left without an intro, your guess (SORRY, WRONG NUMBER) was a good one--Stanwyck and Lancaster certain qualify--but the actual answer is NAKED ALIBI, which features Gloria Grahame and Sterling Hayden.
I guess when you have a film named NAKED ALIBI, it really needs no introduction... :-)
