THE PUBLIC EYE played NC 14 (the one entitled "the art of darkness") where it was the first neo-noir to screen with a "classic noir" in the history of NC.
Well, sort of. Pushing the photographer theme, Eddie paired THE PUBLIC EYW with REAR WINDOW, a film where Hitchcock leaches out a sizable amount of what we feel/sense as "noir" atmosphere from its source material (Cornell Woolrich).
I suspect that noir/neo-pairings are coming, and soon--but it's possible that Eddie will hedge his bets and program them either in mid-week or at the tail end of the festival, where he's shown a lot of post-1960 films in the semi-recent past.
