I approached the film with realistic expectations as it was an ultra-low budget Monogram production. I was looking forward to seeing both Warren William and Anne Gwynne. One of the bit players was an unbilled Darren McGavin. He played a college student.
Alfred Zeisler never recaptured the success that he enjoyed as a German film director (he directed the original "Viktor/Viktoria"). Zeisler also worked as a film director in the United Kingdom before arriving in Hollywood.
After escaping the Nazis, Zeisler picked up some additional money as a character actor. He usually played German military officers in war films.
Curiously, Zeisler was a Chicago native. At some point, he or his family left the USA and returned to Germany.
